Ormie the pig shows great persistence trying to get the cookie jar down off the fridge.

Who likes cookies? If you saw a cookie jar full of chocolate chip cookies sitting up high on a fridge, what would you want to do? How?

Discussion Questions
1. What should Ormie have done if he wanted a cookie? (Asked his mother.)
2. What character qualities did Ormie show? (Persistence, perseverance, determination, endurance, creativity, ingenuity, courage, dishonesty etc.)
3. Was it a good thing or a bad thing that the jar fell on Ormie's head?

Nick Vujicic, born without arms or legs is an awesome role model of perseverance.

Nick Vujicic was born without arms or legs. Yet, his determination not to let this stop him from enjoying his life to the max has become an inspiration to people all over the world. 

Discussion Questions
1. What do you think was Nick's biggest asset? (His family, his good values like perseverance, kindness, determination etc.)
2. What would be the biggest obstacles Nick had to overcome as he grew up? (Self pity, teasing, discouragement, hopelessness etc.)

Jennifer Bricker, born without legs, was told by her adoptive parents that she could do anything except say 'I can't'.

If you were born without legs, what sort of career choices would you expect to be available? Could you become a fireman? A sprinter? A gymnast?

Perseverance Movie 4  'I'm Possible' (10-99 year olds, 25 minutes)
Jeremy Cowart tells his inspirational life story; how through persistence he climbed from feeling a total failure during his school years to being the most influential photographer in America. He turned the Impossible into a belief, 'I'm possible'. 

Who has ever tried to do something hard, and given up, saying 'I can't?' Those were Jeremy Cowart's most common words as a boy, but he persevered and became one of the most influential photographers in America. How did he do it?

Discussion Questions
1. What did Jeremy always say when something was too hard?
2. How did his dad help him to persevere?
3. What were the keys to Jeremy's success?
4. A Chinese philosopher, Confucius, said, 'Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.' What did he mean? 
5. Write down the three things you most enjoy doing. Which of these would you love to do for a job? How can you begin to prepare for this?
